YOUTH LEADERSHIP & EQUITY PROGRAM
Part of Building Strong Futures | Serving youth ages 16–24

What It’s About
Leadership opportunity for young people ages 16-24 in East McKinney and Princeton!
Building Strong Futures: Youth Leadership & Equity is a community-based prevention program. We’re here to address the root causes of sexual violence by focusing on what actually changes lives: opportunity, belonging, safety, and voice.
How it works
-
Community-led, not top-down
-
Youth and adult partners shaping every step
-
Focused on real-world change: paid internships, trauma-informed training, and leadership development
-
Built with the Close to Home model - starting with listening, then building together
What We Focus On

1
Economic Supports
Paid internships, mentorships, and connections to local businesses that are serious about equity. We’re creating real access—not just résumé boosters.
2
Safe Environments
We partner with organizations and institutions to make spaces more trauma-informed, inclusive, and responsive. Youth help lead safety assessments and policy change.
3
Healthy Social Norms
Workshops and campaigns led by youth, especially young men, to shift harmful gender expectations and promote respect, emotional intelligence, and healthier relationships.
Who Is This For?
-
Young people (ages 16–24) living, working, or learning in East McKinney or Princeton
-
Local businesses, nonprofits, colleges, and mentors ready to partner on real change
-
Anyone who believes in the power of youth leadership and prevention at the roots
Our team is coming on board this summer, and we’ll be launching our Youth Advisory Council, community trainings, and public events later this year.
Stay tuned—there are big things ahead.
